Calming Butterflies
Grade Level(s): Preschool, K
Submitted by: AML1165

As simple as this might sound, it really works for younger students. I always ask "whose belly feels like it has butterflies in it this morning?" After assuring them that mine does, too, I open up all the windows and we let all the "butterflies" out the window. Believe it or not, it really does help calm down little ones and lets them know that they are not alone in feeling this way the first day of school!
