Objectives:

  • to help children learn their name as well as other childrens names in their classroom.
  • to learn the letters in their name and realize that certain letters together spells their name.

Materials:

  • a large sheet of blank paper to hang on the wall
  • a marker
  • a copy of this song

Plan:

On a large sheet of paper write this song. Fill in the blanks with a student's name.

The wonderful thing about _______ is _____ is a wonderful thing. Her/His top is made out of rubber, His/her bottom is made out of springs. S/he's bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. But the most wonderful thing about ______is, s/he's the only one. S/he's the only one, purrrrr

Comments:

Another thing to do with this song is to make a class book: Take a picture of every student in the class and put this song on each page with their name in it. Or make a personalized page for each student as a gift for them on their birthday from the teacher!
