Where in the World is Camelot?
Grade Level(s): 9-12
By: Amy Mills, Teaches 9-12 English

This activity accompanies a unit on The Legend of King Arthur. The student will research and plot the various locations of the legendary Camelot.

Materials:

  • Internet Access
  • encyclopedias
  • poster board
  • map of Britain
  • art supplies

Plan:

  1. According to historians, no one really knows where the legendary Camelot was located.
  2. Historians have placed Camelot in a number of locations in Britain.
  3. Using books and the Internet, find all the possible locations of Camelot and plot them on a current map of Britain.
  4. The map should also show the current locations of major cities to put everything into perspective.
