Find Out About Your Students
Grade Level(s): 1-2
By: Debbie Haren, preschool teacher

Learn about your students' likes and dislikes

Materials:

  • A sheet of paper with the questions on it.

Plan:

  1. Copy these questions down on a piece of paper.
  2. Have students ask each other in pairs these questions or just have them fill out themselves.

What are some things you most like about yourself ?

Tell me about your family?

Are there some things you would like to improve about yourself?

What are 3 things you love to do?

What kinds of things worry you or make you nervous?

Do you like to read?

What kinds of books do you like?

What is your favorite subject in school?

Do you like math?

After they have answered all the questions the piece of paper could be put in their journal or saved in a folder and at the end of the year ask the children the same questions and see if their answers have changed.

Comments:

This is an excellent way to start having children learn to self reflect!
