Children feel and experience the ocean in the sand/water table.

Objectives:

To feel and experience the ocean in the sand/water table.

Materials:

  • sand/water table
  • sand
  • water
  • blue food coloring
  • salt
  • shells
  • shovels
  • buckets
  • strainers
  • plastic ocean animals.

    Plan:

    1. Put sand, water, salt, food color, shells, buckets, ocean animals in the table.
    2. Allow the children to explore the color, texture of the water and dig for shells and fish.

    Comments:

    The children really got into the muddy, green color of the sand, water and food color, much like the real ocean.
