M&M Math |
Lesson Plan
|
This is a fun math activity using M&M cookies that are prepared ahead by the teacher or that the students plan for and make the day before. Students munch their way through the cookie keeping a tally of how many M&M's are found in each color. Then a teacher designed math worksheet is completed that reviews any math concepts desired. I enjoy this activity around Halloween calling the cookies M&M Monster Cookies.

Number Scouts |
Lesson Plan
|
What makes up a community? People, of course. Then there are the other living things, such as plants and animals. There are also buildings, streets, schools, businesses, and vehicles. This activity makes students aware of one other important element in a community: numbers.
